2006 - September - Allied Crane
.. on September 22nd 2006 I talked with part of Allied's Rigging Crew .. they said that after checking out the Lorain Crane it was not the 'Back Brace' that prevented the Boom from totally crashing down in a forward direction .. apparently a Pin at the Base of the Heal Boom Section got caught / pinched at the pivot point of the Boom .. UFFFFDA !! .. sooooo now the decision has been made to replace the Heal Boom Section ..
.. on September 23rd 2006 I took a few 'close up' photos of the bottom of the Heal Boom Section and the Pin at the base of the Heal Boom Section .. see below ..
.. on September 28th 2006 Allied's Rigging Crew returned to the jobsite with a new / rebuilt Heal Boom Section freshly painted with bright yellow paint .. the Loraine Crane was relocated and with the 60 Ton Grove Crane Allied's Riggers were able to replace the Heal Section and get the Rig back up ready for the balance of the Rigging work that has to be done before the Crane can be put to use .. the Crew is planning to get the balance of the work done by Monday morning ..
.. on October 04th 2006 Allied's Rigging Crew has the Rig all set to be put into operation now only to find that there is another Bearing that was has to be repaired / replaced .. as of today the Crane Operator dose not know when the Crane will be put into service .. this will complete this Blog ..
