with the Boom
all but vertical the next step was to install the Pins that
secure the Base of the Back Brace of the Boom .. thus far
everything was going 'just like the book' .. the sequence of
photos below were taken as the Boom was brought to a
vertical position and an attempt to secure the Back Brace
failed causing the Boom to free fall until the Back Brace
became wedged to the Roof Structure of the Crane .. at this
time the all of the Rigging Crew jumped free of the Crane
for safety .. |

.. after the
near disaster Allied moved their 60 Ton Grove into position
to temporally hold the Lorain Crane Boom in position until a
larger Crane could be brought in to reposition the Boom of
the Lorain Crane .. |

.. with the
Lorain Crane secured Allied waited for one of their large
Cranes to arrive from Naples Florida ..
